Facial Compress – with essential oils

Facial CompressFacial compresses have the same effect as steam baths.

They stimulate the skin, moisten it, and swell the cornified layer of the epithelium; the essential oils are then more quickly absorbed by the skin.

The Face should be cleansed before applying the compress.

Following tis treatment, the skin is soft, smooth, and receptive to future care.

Thats how you do it: Heat about 2 pints of water to the boiling point and allow it to cool briefly. Add 3 to 4 drops of essential oils, stir briefly. Now dip a small terry towel into the water, wring it out lightly (so that it no longer drips), and put it on your face.

The pot may be left on the stove over a small flame. When the compress cools off, dip the towel in again.

If the skin is very dry, mature, or sensitive, use only lukewarm compresses.

Following this treatment you can massage the face, gently press any blackheads, treat the skin with a mild facial lotion, or apply a light cream or oil but no makeup. The skin should be given the opportunity to breathe.
